Netflix has released a documentary about boxing legend Miguel Angel Vazquero, in which he is portrayed by American actor Robert De Niro.
The film premiered on Thursday, and has already grossed more than $1 million.
Netflix’s original documentary series “The Fight” also stars De Nire and Vazqero.
Vazquez, who was born in Brazil and grew up in Mexico, retired from professional boxing after winning the Mexican title in 1980.
He had also fought professionally for years, first in the United States and then in Europe.
He is credited with being the first Mexican to become a world-renowned boxer.
The fight between the two has been a staple of Mexican television shows, including “El Cucuy,” “El Gringo,” “Dynamo de los Muertos” and “El Nino.”
The documentary also includes footage from Vazqua’s boxing camp, including an interview with his trainer, Jose “Tijuana Jack” Gómez.
Gómex told the filmmakers that he had never seen a Mexican fighter lose.
The fighter would take a hit before landing a blow and then win a round by throwing a punch that landed a second time.
